Rent Girrrrl
06.05.05 (12:28 am) [edit]As soon as I published the previous entry on Tea, I ran to Barns & Noble in Union Square to get a copy of Rent Girl. I found it amazingly well rendered: this should be one of the finest and the landmark sex worker literature in last one decade. It has got gorgeous illustrations along with Tea's simple and strong prose, which captures what you almost pass as you're being too immune to if you are ever in the industry. To complain a bit, there is not much new to find if you are familiar with Tea's works already, although I don't deny she has got the finest voice.
Anyhow, reading about the industry does really wear me off, just as getting traumatized once again. After all, that means this book reflects what it really is like to have been there and done that. You can count on Tea.
